Procuring for Prostitution and Using drugs to Procure for Prostitution
These are offences relating to the ‘recruitment’ of prostitutes. If you procure a person for prostitution who is not a prostitute, this is an offence even if they consent.
Severe penalties can apply if you are convicted of this offence. A court may order a maximum prison term of 7 years.
The offence of using fraud, violence, threat, or abuse of authority, or any drug or intoxicating liquor to procure any person for prostitution is referred to as Using drugs to Procure for Prostitution. Upon conviction an offender faces a maximum 10 year gaol term.
