Licence Suspension Appeals

It is a common misconception that if you have received a Notice of Suspension from the RTA that there is nothing you can do about it. There are several ways you can keep your license or reduce the suspension period in some cases.

A driver’s licence can be suspended for a variety of reasons including:

  1. Accumulation of demerit points on full unrestricted licence, Provisional 1 or Provisional 2 licence
  2. Speeding over 30km/h
  3. Any speeding offence if you are on a Provisional 1 licence
  4. Non payment of fines
  5. Immediate suspension following a drink driving offence
  6. Loss of demerit points while on probationary licence

If your licence is suspended it is illegal to drive on a road or road related area. If you are caught driving while suspended, serious penalties can apply.

If you have received a Notice of Suspension from the New South Wales RTA you should contact our firm on (02) 9521 2222 and speak with one of our traffic solicitors.  It may be possible to apply to a Local Court in New South Wales to have your suspension quashed or reduced.

You can also send your enquiry online now and we will contact you shortly.
