A client lodged an Application appealing the RTA’s decision to automatically suspend his licence for a period of three (3) months, due to exceeding the speed limit by more than 30km/h.
The client was studying at university and was awaiting the result of the licence appeal to find out if his entry into the police academy would be postponed by six (6) months for being suspended.
I made very detailed submissions on the client’s behalf, relying on the client’s good driving record and his genuine need for a licence.
The Magistrate accepted that my client was a person who deserved to continue driving and overturned the RTA’s decision.
No suspension and my client was able to continue his policing career.
