Our client was a P1 licence holder and was detected by a speed camera at 53km/hr in a school zone. She was unfamiliar to the area and her driving history revealed one prior infringement. The new speeding laws meant our client was facing a 3 month suspension of her licence.
Our client held employment in health care which required her to be on-call and as such there was a great need for her to continue to hold a licence. We provided excellent character references to the Court and made detailed submissions to the court about how this possible suspension would cause hardship to our client. Our client also completed the Traffic Offender’s Programme.
The Court accepted our submissions and the suspension of our client's licence was quashed.
