I represented a taxi driver who was charged with “special range” drink driving. His licence was obviously his livelihood. I made detailed submissions to the Magistrate, in particular, that if my client lost his licence he would obviously lose his job as a taxi driver.
Half way through making my submissions the Magistrate kindly asked to take my seat and proceeded to dismiss the matter. My client did not lose his licence and was extremely pleased with the result.
