A client was charged with supply of prohibited drug, namely ecstasy and possession of the same drug. The police had CCTV footage of what appeared to show that he was selling them on a street corner in front of a nightclub. Further, the client had text messages on his mobile phone, which appeared to be requests for the supply of drugs.
I managed to convince the police and the public prosecutor that they were unable to succeed on a charge of supply prohibited drug. The charge was dropped and the client pleaded guilty to possession of prohibited drug only. The client received a great result and, considering his prior criminal history, escaped what was sure to be a full time imprisonment term.
