A client was charged with dealing with money suspected to be proceeds of crimeand possession of 60 grammes of cannabis.
I liaised with the police and managed to convince them that they could not succeed on the charge of dealing with money suspected to be proceeds of crime and they eventually withdrew the charge against my client. This saved the client considerable time and money in not having to defend the charge in Court.
The client pleaded guilty to the cannabis charge, and after making strong submissions to the Magistrate I managed in having the matter successfully dismissed pursuant to section 10 of the Crimes (Sentencing Procedure) Act. This means that the offence was therefore found proved but dismissed and hence, my client escaped without a criminal conviction.
