We acted for a small business which was a franchisee of a national beauty products chain. A young employee of our client’s business commenced proceedings against them claiming a small amount of alleged pay and entitlements.
We appeared on behalf of our client at the Industrial Relations Commission. On the first time the matter was at the Commission, we settled the matter. As the claim was quite small, we achieved for our client a negotiated settlement which from our client’s perspective was the preferred commercial solution to this dispute. Our client was pleased with the result and saved possibly thousands of dollars that would have been incurred if the matter went further.
