We recently acted for a large Australian corporation for the purchase of a commercial property worth close to $3 million. One week before settlement the property flooded and our client became aware of such issues.
We negotiated heavily with the vendor’s solicitor and attained an outcome suitable for my client which was that the vendor had to excavate the landscaping surrounding the property at no extra cost to my client.
The matter went on to settle without further complications and our client was extremely satisfied with the result.
